Done Deal: Ike Uche Joins Segunda Club, Gimnasti De Terragona


Forgotten Super Eagles forward, Ikechukwu Uche has joined Spanish Segunda Division side, Gimnastic De Tarragona on a one-year deal from Mexico’s club, Tigres UNANL.
Uche, who played in the colours of Malaga last season, was suplus to requirement with the Mexican club; and refused to return after his six-month loan spree expired with the La Liga club, hence he decided to pitch his tent with the Spanish lower division club.
The 2013 African Cup of Nations winner has featured for clubs like Racing Ferrol, Recreativo Huelva, Getafe, Real Zaragoza, Villarreal, among other clubs before making moving to Gimnasti.

Williams replaces John Stones at Everton


Everton have replaced John Stones with Ashley Williams after the Wales captain completed a £12m move to Goodison Park.
The Tofees lost Stones to Manchester City in a deal worth almost £50m, but have moved swiftly to tie up Williams from Swansea City.
“I’ve had eight great years at Swansea and, for me, the new challenge was something I felt I needed, so I’m delighted to have joined Everton,” Williams said, after signing a three-year contract.
“Everton is a great club with an unbelievable manager – a world legend in football – and I believe the club is going in the right direction. This is something I wanted to be a part of.
“I look forward to seeing what the manager’s plans are for me and the team. He’s been one of the greatest centre halves to ever play the game, so I look forward to learning from him and seeing what he can teach me.
“I really can’t wait to get out there at Goodison. I’ve always enjoyed playing on the Goodison pitch, so it will be nice to be an Everton player and experience what it’s all about when I’m part of the home team.”
Also speaking after completing the deal, Everton manager Ronald Koeman said: “We wanted to bring in a strong player in the central defence position, a player who knows the Premier League and Ashley fits the bill for us very well.”

German Bundesliga side SV Darmstadt 98 signs Obinna Nsofor


Super Eagles winger, Victor Obinna Nsofor has joined German Bundesliga side SV Darmstadt 98, the club announced on its website on Friday.
Nsofor joined the club from German third division club, MSV Duisburg, after passing the medical checks before completing his working paper. Speaking after the signing of the 29-year-old Nigerian, Darmstadt 98 head coach, Norbert Meier expressed great optimism for signing the fleet footed forward.
“Victor is a very good football player who has experience already at big clubs we are pleased that he is now the path is in the premier league with us. Also, the players looked forward to the new challenge: “I am very happy that I get this chance now I hope that I can contribute with my performance mean that the team will be successful,” Meier noted.
Nsofor has played for several clubs in Europe which include, Chievo Verona, Inter Milan, Malaga, Lokomotiv Moscow among others; before joining the German Bundesliga club.

Arsenal accepts £840,000 loan fee for Szczesny


Poland international Wojciech Szczesny has returned to Serie A side Roma for a second consecutive loan deal after Arsenal accepted a £840,000 fee.
The 26-year-old had a successful loan spell at the Stadio Olimpico last season making 34 appearances in the domestic scene and eight in the UEFA Champions League.
Szczesny is still considered a part of the Gunners squad by manager Arsene Wenger but with Petr Cech as the undisputed first choice, the Polish goalkeeper needs to find game time.
According to the Daily Star, Roma will pay the goalkeeper £46,000-a-week wage while Arsenal get £840,000 as loan fee.
“I’m very happy,” Szczesny told Roma TV. “After a good season last year I had possibility of coming back and I was very happy that the coach wanted me. I’m delighted to be back and I hope that we can improve on what we did last season.”
Szczesny joined Arsenal’s academy in 2006 and made his senior debut three years later.

Roma signs Mohamed Salah from Chelsea on a permanent deal


Chelsea have confirmed that winger Mohamed Salah has left the club to join Roma on a permanent deal.
The Egypt international spent the whole of last season on loan at the Serie A side, playing a key part in their third-place finish.
Having failed to make an impact at Stamford Bridge since joining from Basel in 2014, the 24-year-old has now departed the West London outfit for good.
Salah, who also spent the second half of the 2014-15 campaign at Fiorentina, scored just two goals for the Blues in 13 appearances.
A club statement read: "Chelsea Football Club thanks Mohamed for his service and wishes him well for the future."
Chelsea have also offloaded Stipe Perica to Udinese for £3.2m this summer, while nine others have been loaned out, including Baba Rahman to Schalke 04.

Onazi Seals €5m Trabzonspor


Super Eagles midfielder Ogenyi Onazi has shown his gratitude to SS Lazio fans after signing for Turkish side Trabzonspor on Tuesday, Completesportsnigeria.com can report.
The Nigerian international who joined Lazio from My People FC in 2011  signed a four-year deal worth €5m with the Turkish top flight outfit after he was deemed surplus to requirements at Stadio Olimpico.
"It all started fives ago. Big thanks to all the great Lazio fans who stood by me when the time was rough and when we all smile. 
"God bless you all. I will always be praying for you," the 2013 AFCON winner wrote via his Instagram wall @onaziogenyi on Tuesday.
The former U-17 and U-20 star made 22 appearances for the Italian side last season and had two years left on his deal with them.

Blaszczykowski joins Wolfsburg


Poland’s Jakub Blaszczykowski became the sixth new signing for Bundesliga side Wolfsburg on Monday, whose French midfielder Josuha Guilavogui had a brush with a serious neck injury.
The French midfielder fractured a vertebrae after a collision in the second half of a 2-1 friendly defeat at Sporting Lisbon on Saturday night and a scan revealed the extent of the injury.
The 25-year-old was able to travel with the German club back to Wolfsburg on Sunday wearing a neck brace and will undergo treatment.
There is no prognosis of when the defensive midfielder will be able to play again, ahead of Wolfsburg’s first league game of the season at Augsburg on August 27.
“The doctors say I have a blessing in disguise, no one was to blame, it was just an unfortunate situation,” said Guilavogui.
“Now I hope the healing process goes well and I can recover as quickly as possible.”
As Guilavogui starts his recovery, Blaszczykowski, 30, has become Wolfsburg’s sixth summer signing after joining from Borussia Dortmund.
He joins forwards Borja Mayoral, Daniel Didavi, Josip Brekalo, midfielder Yannick Gerhardt and centre-back Jeffrey Bruma in moving to Wolfsburg.
According to SID, an AFP subsidiary, the transfer is worth four million euros ($4.5m) for the winger who has signed a two-year deal, after picking up Bundesliga winner’s medals with in 2011 and 2012, the year Dortmund won the league and cup double.
“Jakub Blaszczykowski is a player that can do any team good, because he is a prime example of determination, willingness and passion, who always identifies with his clubs 100 percent,” said Wolfsburg director of sport Klaus Allofs.
Blaszczykowski, who spent last season on loan at Fiorentina, will replace Germany forward Andre Schuerrle, who has joined his former club Dortmund.

DONE DEAL: Barcelona Defender Daniel Alves Signs for Juventus


Juventus have announced on their ​official site the signing of Barcelona and Brazil right-back Daniel Alves on a two-year deal.

The transfer has been long on the horizon but has now finally been completed as of Monday afternoon. Alves signs for the Bianconeri on a two-year deal but also has the option of an additional year in Turin.
Dani Alves is definitely one of the best and most decorated defenders of the last decade, achieving a great deal of success with Barcelona. 

He is the second most successful player in UEFA competition history, and, according to most pundits, deserves to be known as not only a Barcelona legend, but also an all-time great. 

Alves enjoyed an eight year spell with Los Cules, and won an total of 23 major trophies, including six league titles and three UEFA Champions League trophies. The Brazilian international has been included in the La Liga Team of the Year once and featured in the FIFA World XI five times.

Borussia Dortmund Officially Confirm Signing of Bayern Munich's Sebastian Rode


Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund have ​officially announced former Bayern Munich midfielder Sebastian Rode as their newest summer signing.

Rode arrives at ​Signal Iduna Park on a four-year contract for an undisclosed fee - though the cost is believed to be in the region of £13m. The 25-year-old has passed a medical and becomes Dortmund's fourth summer signing after Mikel Merino, Ousmane Dembele and Marc Bartra.

Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc said on Rode's arrival: "Sebastian Rode is a dynamic and combative player with a good temperament. These qualities will make him an immensely valuable player. We are happy to have won the race to sign him."

The player himself joined Bayern Munich on a free transfer from Eintracht Frankfurt in 2014, but failed to make the desired impression as he played only 399 minutes of football in the Bundesliga last season.

He said on the move: "I am a childhood BVB fan and therefore I'm really happy that the transfer to my favourite club worked out. 
"Thomas Tuchel is a class trainer, and I already know some of my team-mates. They are top characters, athletic and extremely strong. I am looking forward to the new challenge and my first home game in black and yellow in the Signal Iduna Park."

Odemwingie joins Bristol City on loan


Bristol City have signed forward Peter Odemwingie on loan from Stoke until the end of the season.
Odemwingie, 34, restricted to eight appearances this season, will go straight into Lee Johnson’s squad for Saturday’s Sky Bet Championship game at Fulham.
