Mourinho will improve me – Pogba

Manchester United’s £89m new signing Paul Pogba is already looking forward to working with the Reds head coach Jose Mourinho who believes the France international could be “the heart of the club” for the next decade.

Pogba returned to Old Trafford after four years away for a world-record £89m transfer from Juventus, having left United for the Ol Lady of Turin for £1.5m in 2012.

Pogba who has signed a five-year deal with the Jose Mourinho led side in an interview after completing the move revealed that conversations with national team colleague Raphael Varane and Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata – who was on loan at Juventus last season – left him in no doubt Mourinho is the right man to help his career flourish.

“First of all, I spoke with a lot of players when he was at Madrid. I spoke with (Alvaro) Morata, (Raphael) Varane – and they all told me that he is a coach for me, he will make me improve a lot, because he makes you work harder.

“I feel this. I spoke with him a few times and he gave me energy and positivity. So I was thinking: ‘why not?’ I’m sure he can make me improve and make me a better player and a better person.”

Before his departure in 2012, Pogba who helped the club’s U18 side to FA Youth Cup glory in 2011 made seven senior appearances during his first spell at United.

Mancehster United will pay the Italian champions 105m euros for Pogba, plus five million euros (£4.5m) in performance-related bonuses, and other costs, including five million euros if Pogba signs a new contract.

After two decades without a UEFA Champions League trophy, the Old Ladies have now made it their sole ambition to bring the trophy back to Turin after failing to win 4 finals after that.

With the arrival of Dani Alves, Medhi Benatia, Miralem Pjanic, Marko Pjaca and Gonzalo Higuain on a Serie A record deal, the Italian champions now seem to have the necessary ingredients to cook a champion’s league winning side.

Squad:

On paper, the Tuscans have one of the most complete squad in Europe. With two world class goalkeepers, in the name of Buffon and Neto, Allegri can rotate to give each of them enough rest and chances of play time, both in Italy and Europe.

With defenders like, Dani Alves, Lechsteiner, Bazarghli, Benatia, Bonucci, Chiellini, Rugani, Evra and Alex Sandro, at the back, it will be difficult for opponents to penetrate to even get a shot on target.

The arrival of Miralem Pjanic, much more creativity will be added to the midfield of the Italian side, who already have players like Marchisio, Lemina, Khedira, Kwadwo Asamoah, Hernanes, Sturaro, Perreyra and Paul Pogba (even though he may leave this summer).

Juventus, now possesses one of the best attack in the world. After paying a club and Italian record of £75.3m for Higuain and €23m for Pjaca, the Bianconerri’s seem to have overfilled the space Alvaro Morata left at the club, after the Spaniard rejoined Real Madrid. Adding these two to last season's star man Paulo Dybala, Simone Zaza and Mario Mandzukic, they now don't have a problem with their striking options like they use to have seasons back.

Expectations:

Everything comes down to the selection and tactics of Massmilliano Allegri, who might be going through sleepless night, looking through the pool of players at his disposal. With Pogba rumoured to likely leave, it is not clear as to who else will be leaving now, after the departure of the likes of Martin Caceres and Padoin.

For the Juventus family, this may be the time for them to show their prowess in Europe once again, and maybe get their first treble.

Even though it may be too early to predict, this squad is going to be one of the strongest forces in Europe in the coming season and may go on to win every trophy at their disposal.

Manchester United and Juventus have come to an agreement over a fee for Paul Pogba, according to reports.

The future of the 23-year-old has been the subject of intense speculation throughout the summer, with United thought to have offered a world-record fee to bring Pogba back to Old Trafford.

Reports earlier today suggested that Pogba's agent Mino Raiola was finalising details with Juventus officials after the deal had stalled due to United's unwillingness to pay substantial agent fees.

However, respected Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has now reported that the two clubs have agreed a price of €110m (£92.7m) for the France international, which would make him the most expensive footballer of all time.

Romano also confirmed that United have agreed to pay Raiola's fee, which is rumoured to be worth around €20m (£16.8m).

Official confirmation of the transfer is now thought to be imminent, with Pogba set to become United's fourth signing of the summer after Eric Bailly, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Juventus have announced on their official site the signing of Barcelona and Brazil right-back Daniel Alves on a two-year deal.

The transfer has been long on the horizon but has now finally been completed as of Monday afternoon. Alves signs for the Bianconeri on a two-year deal but also has the option of an additional year in Turin.

Dani Alves is definitely one of the best and most decorated defenders of the last decade, achieving a great deal of success with Barcelona.

He is the second most successful player in UEFA competition history, and, according to most pundits, deserves to be known as not only a Barcelona legend, but also an all-time great.

Alves enjoyed an eight year spell with Los Cules, and won an total of 23 major trophies, including six league titles and three UEFA Champions League trophies. The Brazilian international has been included in the La Liga Team of the Year once and featured in the FIFA World XI five times.

Juventus signs Miralem Pjanic from Roma for €32m

Juventus have completed the signing of Miralem Pjanic for £25.4m (€32m) from Roma on a five-year contract.

The Bosnia-Herzegovina midfielder had been linked with Chelsea, where the Italy manager Antonio Conte will take over before the new Premier League season. However he has instead opted to join the Serie A champions.

A statement on the club’s website said: “Juventus Football Club can today confirm that Miralem Pjanic has completed a permanent switch from Roma for a fee of €32m. The 26-year-old has signed a five-year contract with the club.”

Pjanic handed in an official transfer request on Saturday. The player informed Roma that he wished to activate a release clause in his contract that allowed him to leave for a pre-agreed amount, adding that he would pay 20% of the fee himself, with Juventus making up the balance.

The player joined Roma from Lyon in 2011 for €11m and last season scored 10 goals in 33 league appearances, while also providing 12 assists. After spending most of his youth in Luxembourg, he established himself as one of the best players in Serie A with a knack for scoring spectacular goals.

Juventus became the first Italian side in history to complete back-to-back doubles as substitute Alvaro Morata scored an extra-time winner against AC Milan in the Coppa Italia final.

The 23-year-old swept home a half-volley from Juan Cuadrado's cross to settle a game high on effort, but short on quality in the final third.

Juventus claimed the Italian title for the fifth successive season in April.

Milan miss out on Europe next season after finishing seventh in Serie A.

The final Europa League spot goes to minnows Sassuolo, who finished sixth in the league and had never qualified for Europe before.

The Italian Cup final is likely to mark the end of Mario Balotelli's second stint with the Rossoneri.

The 25-year-old striker - at the end of a season-long loan from Liverpool - has scored only three goals in 23 appearances since his return to Italy and was a late substitute in Rome.

Milan last lifted a trophy in 2011 when they were led to a Super Cup win over city rivals Inter Milan by Massimiliano Allegri, who is now the Juventus boss.
