No fewer than six players from the current U-23 squad to the Suwon tournament in Korea will be dropped from the 2016 Rio Olympic bound team, according to a trusted source
The soccer tactician who is furious with his side following their second straight defeat in the tournament, is prepared to wield the axe on some of the players who have suddenly become complacent.
"Siasia is not a happy man as we speak because of the results in the Suwon tournament," the source briefed soccer120.com"And he is prepared to drop about six players from this side because some of them are becoming relaxed. That will enable him to see if new ones can break in," the source added.
Siasia who had earlier revealed prior to the tournament that the performance of his lads in Korea will determine if new players will be given a chance to jostle for places in the final squad for the games in Brazil, hopes club commitments won't hamper his preparations when the provisional squad list is out.
"There are lots of players penciled down, but the thing is that most of the clubs may not release them for the games despite their early approval," Siasia stated."That's why there's a large pool to pick from.
"The likes of Isaac Success, Imoh Ezekiel are expected to make summer moves to new teams while the duo of Alex Iwobi and Kelechi Iheanacho are just breaking into their respective teams. We don't know what to expect that's why the options are still open, but you never know."
