Poland international Wojciech Szczesny has returned to Serie A side Roma for a second consecutive loan deal after Arsenal accepted a £840,000 fee.
The 26-year-old had a successful loan spell at the Stadio Olimpico last season making 34 appearances in the domestic scene and eight in the UEFA Champions League.
Szczesny is still considered a part of the Gunners squad by manager Arsene Wenger but with Petr Cech as the undisputed first choice, the Polish goalkeeper needs to find game time.
According to the Daily Star, Roma will pay the goalkeeper £46,000-a-week wage while Arsenal get £840,000 as loan fee.
“I’m very happy,” Szczesny told Roma TV. “After a good season last year I had possibility of coming back and I was very happy that the coach wanted me. I’m delighted to be back and I hope that we can improve on what we did last season.”
Szczesny joined Arsenal’s academy in 2006 and made his senior debut three years later.
