England International Jamie Vardy is already an Arsenal player, according to BBC Sport’s blog. 

The British media giant may have let slip some insider knowledge regarding Vardy’s future after a slip-up during their live coverage of England’s 2-1 victory over Wales on Thursday afternoon. 

Jamie Vardy has been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium after the gunners activated his release clause. 

The 29-year-old came off the bench to score England’s equalizer against Wales and BBC Sportintentionally – described Vardy as an Arsenal player in their description of his goal.

Thierry Henry is shocked that Jamie Vardy hasn't yet completed his move to Arsenal and doesn't understand why he would rather stay at Leicester than join the Gunners. 

The gunners triggered Vardy's £20million release clause earlier this month and he looked set to sign a four-year deal at the Emirates worth £120,000-a-week. 

However, Vardy is waiting until the end of England's involvement in Euro 2016 to make a decision on his club future and there is a growing sense that he will snub a move to Arsenal. 

"He's 29. You have Arsenal coming for you and you're telling them 'I'm going to think about it'?" Arsenal legend Henry told BBC radio 5 live. 
"Well, all I can say is you [Vardy] have another proposition on the table or Arsenal doesn't seem attractive to you anymore. 
"He had an amazing season, don't get me wrong. That will go down in the history of the game. 
"But I have a question mark about whether he can play in the last third when another team is sitting deep. 
"I think he's been brilliant, I'm just asking myself questions along the way. 
"All I can say is, if I was playing for Leicester and I'm 29 and I have Arsenal coming, I would have gone, but I'm not Jamie Vardy."

Arsenal and France forward Olivier Giroud has welcomed Arsenal's pursuit of Jamie Vardy, claiming he was told that the Englishman was keen on joining the London side.

“I have been told that Jamie wants to join us and it's very good news for us - I think we can be complementary,” said Giroud. "He's a fantastic player, so it's good news for us."

Giroud's place would certainly be under threat, yet the Arsenal man seemed to welcome the news.

“The boss wanted to sign at least one or two strikers, so I expected a top striker and I think it will benefit the club and hopefully he is going to score a lot of goals like he did at Leicester."

Vardy keeps Wenger waiting

Jamie Vardy is keeping Arsenal and Leicester City waiting as he continues to ponder his club future.

The England striker, 29, was due to choose whether to remain with the Foxes or join the Gunners before flying out to France for Euro 2016 on Monday.

But he arrived with the rest of the England squad without informing Arsenal of his decision.

Arsenal will wait for a decision on a reported £120,000-a-week offer before the tournament starts on 10 June.

Arsenal, who finished second behind Premier League champions Leicester, are believed to have offered in the region of £20m for Vardy to trigger the release clause in his contract.

The former Fleetwood Town forward only signed a new three-year contract, reported to be worth £60,000-a-week, with Leicester in February.

Vardy joined Leicester from Fleetwood for £1m in 2012 and helped the Foxes to the Premier League title last season, scoring 24 goals.

the Foxes are desperate to keep Vardy and are believed to have offered a counter contract offer in order to persuade the 29-year-old to turn down the Gunners.

Arsenal believed they would get a final response from Vardy before the striker jetted off with England to their Euro 2016 camp in France but he’s left Arsene Wenger’s side guessing.

With the Gunners desperate to hear Vardy’s decision, the striker’s every move is being stalked and Gooners couldn’t fail to spot the fact that Vardy changed his Twitter header to a photo of Leicester City lifting the title last month.

Arsenal Could Complete Double Leicester Swoop With Riyad Mahrez to Follow Vardy as Talks Begin

Arsenal are now in talks with Mahrez, who in April became the first African player to be presented with the prestigious PFA Players' Player of the Year award.

It is suggested that having triggered Vardy's £20m release clause last week, the Gunners have done the same for Mahrez. It is even said they were surprised by just how low the value of the clause was.

As such, if talks go well, the former Le Havre winger, bought for just £400,000 by Leicester in January 2014 as they surged towards the Championship title and promotion back to the Premier League, could quickly follow Vardy out of the King Power Stadium.

Arsenal have been one of a number clubs linked with Mahrez for a number of months. His incredible rise is believed to have caught the attention of Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea at various times, while even Real Madrid and Barcelona have been credited with interest.

Mahrez signed a contract extension with Leicester in August 2015 and is currently earning £35,000-a-week - much less than Arsenal-bound team-mate Jamie Vardy who increased his pay packet to £80,000-a-week after agreeing an improved deal in February.

Arsenal have activated the release clause for Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy, according to widespread reports. 

Jamie Vardy - currently on international duty with England ahead of Euro 2016 - scored 27 goals for Leicester in all competitions in 2015/16. 

Leicester may have no choice but to allow their star striker to open talks with the north Londoners - with figure being reported around £20m-£22m. 

However, in another twist,Liverpool are said to be willing to pay the 29-year-old higher wages, but they cannot offer Champions League football. 

Leicester signed Vardy from Fleetwood - then non-league for £1m in 2012 and he previously played for FC Halifax and Stocksbridge Park Steels.

Since making his England debut in 2015, he has scored three times in eight internationals.

Arsenal, who finished second in the league, 10 points behind Leicester, have already signed Switzerland midfielder Granit Xhaka from Borussia Monchengladbach.

Jamie Vardy has been named the Football Writers' Assocation's Footballer of the Year for 2016.

Vardy received 36 per cent of the votes cast to triumph over Leicester City team-mates Riyad Mahrez and N'Golo Kante.

The striker has scored 22 goals in the Premier League this season to put Claudio Ranieri's men - who were pre-season relegation candidates - on the brink of a stunning title success.

This season also saw the 29-year-old set a new Premier League record by scoring in 11 consecutive matches, beating the previous landmark held by Ruud van Nistelrooy.

Like Mahrez's victory, Vardy's success is the first time a Leicester player has won the accolade, with the FWA award running since 1948.

Vardy follows on from star trio Gareth Bale, Luis Suarez and Eden Hazard, who had won the award - which is voted for by around 400 football journalists - in the previous three years.
