Abia Comets Football Club of Umuahia facing transportation problem

Players and officials of Abia Comets Football Club of Umuahia, are going through hell at the moment as the team does not have a bus of its own and team find it very difficult to transport themselves to the training ground and match venue.

We can authoritatively report that the team had been traveling with rented Abia Line buses which has not been convenient for the players and officials to seat comfortably.

Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, last weekend donated Marcopolo Buses to Enyimba International FC and Abia Warriors to ease the two state own Premier League teams transportation.

Comets players and officials complained bitterly of being neglected by the state government and appealed to the governor, to give the team a new bus.

However, a passionate call has been directed to the Executive Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, by the players and officials, of the team to as a matter of urgency save the club from financial distress.

The team have sent Save Our Soul (SOS) message to Governor Ikpeazu, over the financial state of the team and make available a 32 seater bus.

Kwara United starts on a good note

Kwara United Football Club of Ilorin on Sunday began their 2015/2016 Nigeria National League (NNL) campaign with a 2-0 win over visiting Adamawa United FC of Yola.
The NNL week one encounter was played at the Kwara Stadium Complex in Ilorin.
The first goal of the game came in the 20th minute, after Ahmed Jimoh dribbled past two Adamawa United defenders to beat the goalkeeper to his near post.
The hosts missed some goal scoring opportunities thereafter, with Segun Alebiosu the most guilty in wasting the chances.
The visitors were however resilient for most parts of the first half, even as Ahmed Jimoh was always a threat to the Adamawa side’s defenceline.
The second half began well for the Harmony Boys as their first few touches resulted into a penalty kick, when Alebiosu's goal attempt was blocked by Adamawa United defenders.
Former Akwa Starlets winger Chukwudi Esobe missed the kick to deny the hosts the chance of doubling their lead barely a minute into the second half.
Alebiosu who missed most of the Kwara United chances however redeemed himself with the team’s second goal just five minutes before the final whistle.
Speaking after the match, coach John Obuh expressed delight that the season started on a positive note for Kwara United.
He however said the expectations of his team’s fans were unfair.
"Football is not mathematics. Just because we scored seven goals against Galadima Best on Thursday in Abuja in the Federation Cup does not mean we will score five goals today (Sunday)," the coach said.
Obuh nonetheless lamented the scoring chances his players failed to utilise during the game and assured that the technical crew would correct this before their next game.
