Real Madrid are watching West Ham United star Dimitri Payet as he lights up Euro 2016 for France.
Payet has scored in both of France’s opening Group A victories to help the hosts qualify for the knockout stages with a game to spare.
The 29-year-old’s performances have been hailed in France and England, and have increased interest in him from Real, who had already been alerted by Payet’s superb season in the Premier League.
Real manager Zinedine Zidane is a fan of Payet and will be aware that the West Ham man is on course to beat his European Championship record.
Zidane created 15 chances for France during the entire Euro 2004 event and, other than scoring twice, Payet has already created 14 opportunities in this tournament.
Having handed Payet a new £125,000-a-week contract in February, West Ham have insisted they will not sell him for any price this summer.
