The bragging rights in the Oriental Derby belonged to Enugu Rangers as they narrowly defeated Heartland FC 2-1 at the Dan Anyiam Stadium on Sunday.
Chisom Egbuchulam delivered the match winner for the Flying Antelopes on the hour.
Experienced campaigner Julius Ubido put the hosts in front with a sumptous free kick in the 12th minute.
Rangers weren’t deterred and they attacked with confidence.
They were back on level terms when Chinedu Udeagha poked home from Osas Okoro’s free kick.
Egbuchulam silenced the home fans with the winning goal from the penalty spot to put his team back in the hunt for the title.
