Match Report: Kano Pillars Thrash Abia Warriors 5-0

Former league champions, Kano Pillars defeated Abia Warriors FC 5-0 in their Week 24 of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) clash at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano on Sunday.

Rabiu Ali scored a brace in the 10th and 82nd minutes, Rasaq Adegbite, Bala Zakka and Nafiu Kabuga scored in the 44th, 45th and 90th minutes respectively to end the match 5-0 at full time. Elsewhere at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan, Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) threw away two goals lead to allow FC Ifeanyi Ubah levelled scores 2-2 against the Oluyole Warlords at home.

Ebitimi Agogo scored early ten minutes into the match; Afolabi later made it 2-0 for the hosts in the 75th minute. Tamen Medrano then converted a penalty kick for Anambra Warriors after former Shooting Stars player, Wasiu Jimoh was brought down in the box.

Onyebuchi Ajunwa scored the equalizer in the 82nd minute for the visitors. FC Ifeanyi Ubah was reduced to 10-men in the 85th minute when club’s captain, Elu Wilson was sent off for a second yellow. The match saw the presence of the Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Saliu Adetunji, with his wife at the stadium.

Abdulrahman Bashir scored the only goal as Nasarawa United FC defeated Niger Tornadoes 1-0 at the Aper Aku Stadium in Markudi. Tornadoes missed a penalty on the stroke of 45th minute in the match. Plateau United FC defeated league leaders Wikki Tourists of Bauchi 2-0 at the Rwang Pam Stadium, Jos centre. Daddy Francis and Anayo Ogbonna are the scorers for Plateau United.

Sunshine Stars FC got the better of Mountain of Fire and Miracles (MFM) FC, with a 2-0 victory at the Akure Township Stadium in Akure on Sunday. Star striker, Dele Olorundare scored a brace (one from penalty) for the Akure Gunners in the match.
