GIwa FC already in Umuahia
Giwa FC are already in Umuahia to honour this weekend’s Nigeria league Week 15 game against Abia Warriors, but they could still be expelled from the competition should they boycott two other league games.
A player of the team told AfricanFootball.com they will face Abia Warriors with determination:
"We will honour our Week 15 game against Abia Warriors. In fact, we are in Umuahia already for the game. We are ready as players to put in our best," the player disclosed to AfricanFootball.com
Giwa failed to travel to Abuja to complete their abandoned Week 13 game of the NPFL and also failed to honour their home game, a Week 14 game against Wikki in Ilorin.
They have two other home games in Ilorin after they were banished there because of the crowd trouble during the match against Rangers in Jos.
Should they again stay away from these matches, they will be thrown out of the league as stipulated in the rulebook of the league for this season.
The players have also grumbled over unpaid salaries stretching to several months.
