After initially placing a 10 million Naira price tag on Ebele Obi, Owerri based clubside Heartland have stated that the goalkeeper is no longer for sale.
Obi was wanted by rivals FC Ifeanyi Ubah, but such move angered Heartland, who wrote an official complaint to the League Management Company (LMC).
A meeting was set up on a possible transfer with the LMC acting as intermediary but Heartland surprisingly closed the 10 million Naira valuation of the player,
Solomon Onu who is the Media officer of Heartland FC spoke to soccer120.com saying;
"Ebele Obi is no longer for sale.They (Ifeanyi Ubah) made an Illegal approach for him, and as professionals we reported the matter to LMC"
"That was when they wrote us through their lawyers that they were interested in Ebele Obi and our management replied them with the player's valuation.
"And as at today, we told them that Ebele Obi is no longer for sale."
