NPFL Report: 3SC and Plateau Utd ends in 2-2 draw

Fans of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) left the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan, on Sunday evening disappointed that their club could only share spoils with the visiting Plateau United of Jos on match day 14 of the 2015/16 NPFL season.
Smarting from a disgraceful 6-0 bashing in Kano on match day 13, fans of 3SC were expecting that their team would manage to eke out a win to assuage their feelings.
Without their coach Kadiri Ikhana, who missed out of Sunday's game, owing to ill health, many of the 5,300 fans at the stadium, still had the belief that the Oluyole Warriors' push for three points could not be stopped by the visitors.
Interestingly, Plateau United came into the encounter, with the unenviable record of not having picked a point on the road all season.
Plateau United coach Zachary Baraje and his wards must have felt that their bad away run would continue when referee Charles Ozigbo from Anambra, pointed to the spot after Sunday Ingbede unnecessarily touched the ball in the box.
Former junior international, Wasiu Jimoh, missed the penalty for 3SC and a few minutes later, the visitors were in front.
In the 27th minute, Joshua Obaje flashed his shot past goalkeeper Emmanuel Fabiyi after some beautiful team play and excellent interchange of passes.
Five minutes later, another hand ball incident in the visitors' box, leading to another penalty against the Jos team, was converted by Tope Orelope to level scores at 1-1.
The first half would witness one more goal.
Wasiu Jimoh made amends for his earlier penalty miss by coolly slotting home the ball after a rare goalkeeping blunder by Plateau United's Danladi Isah.
The highlight of the second half was clearly in the 73rd minute when Baraje introduced Ibeh Johnson for the hardworking Leghat Isah.
A minute later, with his first touch, Ibeh Johnson drew the away team level. 3SC's defence failed to deal decisively with Daniel Itodo's long throw-in and in the ensuring melee, the ball rolled kindly into Johnson's path for a ruthless finish.
Efforts by a frustrated home side to snatch a late winner were repelled by the visitors, who held on for their first point on the road this season.
