A new date for the international friendly match between Luxembourg and Nigeria has finally been settled: the teams will play on Tuesday, May 31, at 7pm.
The cause of the change of dates is due to the prologue of the SkodaTour Luxembourg, scheduled for June 1 in the centre of the capital--the same night the match was originally scheduled to take place.
As another result of the change, the playoffs scheduled for May 31 will be moved to Wednesday, June 1.
“The change in date will not in any way affect our program. The entire contingent will move to Luxembourg from Rouenin France, where we will play Mali on 27th May. We will still have three days to train for the match against Luxembourg,” Eagles’ Team Administrator, Enebi Achor, told thenff.com. The match in Luxembourg will take place at 7pm on Tuesday, 31st May, at the Josy Barthel Stadium in that country’s capital city.
Achor also confirmed to thenff.com that a number of technical and administrative officials have now been issued Schengen visas; enabling them to enter the two countries for the matches. The NFF has also submitted fresh applications for those who were earlier denied.
The Super Eagles play Mali’s Les Aiglons in Rouen on 27th May and play Luxembourg in that country on 31st May, as part of preparations for the first matches of the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying series to be played later this year.
