Akwa United goalkeeper Akpan Bassey has told soccer120.com that he hopes to return to the Super Eagles.
Bassey has had inconsistent stints with the Super Eagles and failed to establish himself firmly.
After a brief spell in the Vietnamese league, the 32-year has returned home, where he has been impressive for Akwa United this season, and he says he hopes his form will earn him another chance with the Eagles.
Speaking via telephone he said "I've been doing well and been training hard and I hope the Super Eagles coaches will see that.
"It hasn't been an easy last couple of years, but I have been able to keep myself in good shape as my performances this season have shown."
He has played seven games for the 'Promise Keepers' this season, keeping four clean sheets.
