Can Tope Orelope come back to hurt Rangers like others did ?

Will Tope Orelope be the next Rangers wanabe‎ to come back and haunt the Nigeria league leaders after Prince Aggrey and Bernard Ovoke have already done so this season?

Orelope was on the verge of joining Rangers at the beginning of the season after passing trials at the Enugu club, but somehow the deal did not pull through.

Ever since, the enterprising forward has been on fire for Shooting Stars to give enough notice he could be the man to trouble Rangers in Sunday night’s showdown at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu.

Prince Aggrey, who was have joined Rangers from Sunshine in the close season, eventually pitched tent with Kano Pillars and haunted Rangers in Kano by netting the winning goal on the opening game of this season.

Ifeanyi Mathew was equally billed to join ‘The Flying Antelopes’ after this year’s CHAN from El Kanemi on loan, but Rangers wanted an outright buy.

The highly-rated midfielder also joined Pillars and tormented Rangers on the opening day and could have racked up a number of goals, but he appeared to have left his shooting boots at home.

But Rangers must now be biting their fingers they failed to sign Bernard Ovoke from relegated Bayelsa United because he was the one who wrecked them in last weekend’s 3-1 demolition at Rivers United.

He scored twice to inflict the league leaders their third loss of the campaign.

Ovoke impressed in training with Rangers in the close season. He was then given a stipend to go and fetch his personal belongings, but the next time Rangers would encounter him was when he tore them apart in Port Harcourt.
