West Ham to dump Emenike end of season
West Ham United will not extend Emmanuel Emenike’s loan deal at the end of the season following the signing of Toni Martinez, according to Turkish newspaper Milliyet.
The former Super Eagles striker has failed to impress after joining the Hammers on loan from Fenerbahce in January, forcing Slaven Bilic’s side to sign Martinez from Valencia on a three-year deal worth €3 million.
Emenike, who had a spell at Al Ain in the UAE top-flight before joining the Hammers on loan, has only managed a total of two-goals in all competitions for the club since arriving in January.
The former Spartak Moscow striker is yet to score a single goal in the Premier League and has been displaced from the West Ham’s starting line-up following the return to form of England international Andy Carroll.
The Hammers have a buy-out option to sign Emenike on a permanent deal at the end of the season but it appears Bilic isn’t keen to retain the services of the power-playing Nigerian.
