Israeli star Kenny Sayef who plays along side Super Eagles forward Moses Simon at Belgium club KAA Gent has labelled the Nigerian international the Buffalo’s “Lionel Messi”.
Speaking to the club’s official website after the game, Sayef expressed his admiration for the fantastic solo by Moses, comparing him to Barcelona and Argentina wonderkid Lionel Messi.
“It feels great to win again. This is a boost for the tough series of matches that await us now stands. We believe there already that we can put down anything in the playoffs
“He (Moses) is our Messi. (Laughs) I hope he grows thanks to this goal back to his best form.” Sayef stated.
Moses’ 87th minute strike which was his tenth in 44 league appearances for the Buffalos since making the switch from Trecin to GHELAMCO-arena in 2014 helped Gent to their first victory in over a month. The Nigerian international have not recorded any victory in their last five fixtures in all competitions. The last time they tasted victory was in the 3-1 thrashing of Lokeren in the league back in February.
Meanwhile, beginning from April 19 Patrick Turcq will assume the responsibility of a sporting manager of Gent for the next five seasons while Gunther Schepens is sporting advisor of the club. This appointment is part of the further professionalisation of KAA Gent according to a club statement. 56-year-old Turcq was previously general manager at KV Kortrijk.
