Stanley Dimgba, Segun Oduduwa and Usman Mohammed have been barred from the Nigeria senior national team camp by coach Samson Siasia for turning up late to camp without seeking for approval.
The trio were among the 22 Nigeria Professional Football League stars invited for next week’s make or break Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Egypt but were kicked out for not meeting the deadline set for the local based professionals for the Dream Team VI’s friendly against Brazil U23 friendly.
Dimgba featured for Sunshine Stars in their 1-1 draw against Ifeanyi Ubah FC at the Akure Township Stadium on Sunday.
“We cannot have those three in camp anymore,” said Siasia. “This is very serious business, and only serious –minded persons can be involved.
“They reported late to the camp of the U-23 team, so they cannot be tolerated in the camp of the senior team.
“I have said it over the past few days that the right mentality would count big among the traits we are looking for in the players to feature against Egypt.”
The players were part of the Nigeria U23 squad that won the Africa U23 Cup of Nations in Senegal in December 2015.
