MFM FC attacking midfielder Kenedium Chuks has declared that the focus of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) newcomers will now be on their home game against former champions, Kano Pillars, at the Agege Stadium, Lagos on Wednesday.
The match, which is live on SuperSport 9 by 7pm, will be the first time MFM will face Kano Pillars in the NPFL, and Kenedium is confident ahead of the game.
The MFM player had graceful words for his teammates despite losing one-nil in Owerri to Heartland on Sunday.
"It's a great pleasure to play against this team (Heartland) who are former champions and have been in the league for a long time and going down by only 1-0 is something we shouldn't be totally bad about. Though we were defeated we are still not down because we gave a good account of ourselves in this game," said Kenedium who came on as a second half substitute for MFM.
"We are still hopeful of winning the trophy this season, and we will now go back and re- stratigise against Kano Pillars who are our next opponents at home so we are not troubled at all and the dream is still on."
Heartland's Chidiebere Ajoku, who put in a man of the match performance thanked the fans for their support and attributed his man of the match display to hard work in his first start of this season.
"This is my first start of the season so I am very grateful to all the fans and to those who feel I deserve the man of the match award," said Ajoku.
He maintained that they will as a team continue to push for victories in subsequent games knowing that hard work pays.
Fortune Omoniwari's goal on 29 minutes from Ajoku's was all that Heartland needed to grab the three points in a very pulsating match.
Ajoku was a torn in the flesh of MFM FC as he was all over them from the blast of the whistle though the game did not pick until the goal came.
MFM FC talismanic midfielder Emmanuel Chukwuka Onuwa was practically quiet as Heartland's Julius Ubido hassled him off the ball and barely gave him even five metres on or off the ball.
The defeat at Heartland now means MFM drop from first to second position, one point behind Rangers while the Naze Millionaires are 14th place.
