Juventus centre-back Giorgio Chiellini has revealed the difference in his methods for marking both Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, and the tactics he employs for the latter are... unconventional.
The Italian, who has played against the best teams from across Europe during his 11-year stint with the Bianconeri, is a seasoned veteran at 31 years old and outined a simple method to stunt Ronaldo.

Messi, on the other hand, is an entirely different prospect and Chiellini has admitted that sometimes he has to call in back up from a higher power when facing the Barcelona star.
"How do you mark Ronaldo? You try not to leave him alone and don't let him shoot on his right foot. As for Messi... you just make the sign of the cross!" the defender told Eurosport Italia.
"Experience helps you read certain situations better and make less mistakes in terms of behaviour. Knowing your opponent is also important, too, individually as well as the team.
