The national Supreme Administrative Court has ordered the dissolution of the Egyptian Football Association’s board of directors.

Ahmed El-Shazly, head of the Supreme Administrative Court, issued a ruling that requires the dissolution of the EFA. This occured as a result of a complaint issued by Dr. Magda El Helbawi and Hermas Radwan, former candidates in the EFA elections, regarding the invalidity of the elections held in 2012.
The new elections are expected to be held next September, and Tharwat Sweilam is expected to be an interim president for the remaining five months. Current president Gamal Allam has warned that the FA will take the legal route, and that it will probably lodge a complaint with FIFA for ‘government interference in football’.

The Dissolution decision delayed

Minister of Youth and Sports Khaled Abdel-Aziz has revealed that the ruling will not be effective until after the African Cup of Nations qualifier match against Nigeria on Tuesday.
“We will wait until the Nigeria match is played, and then we will evaluate the situation; we are doing this to protect Egyptian football from sanctions due to of government interference,” he expressed.
El Helbawi also reiterated her claims regarding the alleged forgery during the previous elections.
