Odion Ighalo Wanted In Qatar
Another summer transfer option has opened for Watford of England striker, Odion Jude Ighalo, as the Super Eagles star is reportedly on the radar of a top club in Qatar.
So soon after repeated reports from London indicated that Watford are bracing up for Ighalo’s exit this summer, the former Lyn Oslo of Norway, Udinese of Italy and Granada of Spain attacker has now found a tempting offer coming his way from the Middle East, akin to a similar bid he rebuffed from China last year.
It is now left to be seen if Ighalo would again set aside money interests and snub the latest opening, as allnigeriasoccer.com reports that a Qatar Stars League outfit are exploring ways to sign the former Flying Eagles captain in the summer market.
The Qatari club, which is based in the Persian Gulf, are willing to pay 13 million euros to lure Ighalo from The Hornets in a four-year contract.
Should the Watford No.24 agree to move to Qatar, he is set for a bumper payday as he will earn €5 million per season, meaning that he will pocket €20 million (equivalent of N7.2 billion) at the end of his contract.
Watford are ready to cash-in on Ighalo in the summer, with another Nigerian striker, highly rated youth international, Isaac Success lined up as a possible replacement, also from Granada of Spain.
Though no bid has yet been received for Ighalo, the 26-year-old Ighalo has been linked with possible moves to West Ham United, Everton and Chelsea, on the strength of his haul of 14 goals in his maiden Premier League season.
