NPFL PREVIEW WEEK 14: RIVERS UNITED VS RANGERS FC


Rivers United will welcome leaders Enugu Rangers to the Yakubu Gowon Stadium on Sunday in a much anticipated league tie.
The Pride of Rivers are currently 7th on the log and they have played one stalemate, won six and lost six games already in the campaign.
Nevertheless, a win for Rivers could push them to the top five.  This further underlines the fixture as one of the most important games Stanley Eguma's side will partake in this season as it would ideally kick-start their proceedings in the league.
Everything has fallen into place for coach Imama Amakpakabo and Rangers. The Flying Antelopes are on top of the ladder with 27 points from a possible 39.
 No fewer than four first team players will miss Rivers United’s Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) clash with Enugu Rangers on Sunday.
Yaovi Douhadji, Guy Kuemian, Godbless Asamoah and Wilson Andoh will definitely miss out on the match day 14 encounter against the Flying Antelopes.
Togolese international defender, Douhadji is currently indisposed and has not trained since last week

The midfielder is in superb form and was named NPFL player for the month of March after scoring three goals in six matches. He is also a treat from set pieces which should be a major concern for Rivers United goalkeeper Sunday Rotimi.

Osas Okoro


The player was the match winner in a 2-1 home win over Niger Tornadoes 2-1 on Sunday. He is a prolific goal scorer and was voted Orange man-of-the Match in the game between Nigeria and the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia which ended 1-1 on Friday in Kigali in January in January 2016
