NPFL: Warri Wolves End Abia Warriors Unbeaten Run

Warri Wolves have put an end to Abia Warriors’ unbeaten streak by handing out a 1-0 defeat to the Umuahia-based outfit in a match day three rescheduled fixture at the Warri City Stadium.
Abia Warriors who have won five and drawn five in their last ten games in the Nigeria Professional Football League this season came all out to protect their record.

They were unable to do that as they tasted defeat for the first time this season with former junior international, King Osanga, who was on the rank of Shooting Stars of Ibadan last season
scoring the winner for his side in the 53rd minute.

The visitors remain second in the table despite the defeat. Warri Wolves who occupied the 14th position prior to the game have now moved to ninth position in the table.

The result also ensured that the Umuahia-based Warriors have now lost their first game in 10 this season, a development that infuriated head coach Kennedy Boboye.

Speaking after the match, Boboye told NPFL.ng that he was not happy that they lost to a side that was poor for most of the game.
“I’m disappointed with my team for not converting their chances. With the way Warri Wolves played, it was nothing to match my team and I wasn’t happy with the result,” Boboye said.
