Leicester celebrate after Jamie Vardy's goal against Sunderland |
Following their win over Sunderland, Leicester are now 10 points clear at the top of the Premier League - with second place Tottenham in action against Manchester United from today.
If Spurs lose this afternoon's match, that would leave Leicester's nearest challengers on 62 points with five games to go. Working on the basis that Tottenham pick up maximum points from those matches, they would end the campaign on 77 points.
With Leicester currently on 72 points, the Foxes would need to reach 78 to be mathematically certain of the title - achievable with just two wins.
With three points against West Ham next weekend, they could win the title at home when they play Swansea on Sunday 24 April.
Should Tottenham beat Manchester United today, and continue to win until the end of the season, Leicester's match against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday 1 May would be the soonest Claudio Ranieri's side could be mathematically certain of winning the title.
